Practical answers on plastic pallets, bulk bins and crates, and spill containment — from sizes and load ratings to food suitability, export, bund capacity and wholesale ordering.
Plastic vs timber, food and export suitability, load ratings, delivery and ordering.
Eco Pallets is named to reflect our focus on helping businesses find economical, efficient and reliable material handling solutions. We supply more than plastic pallets, including industrial crates, pallet bins, bunded pallets and spill containment products. The word "Eco" represents not only the importance of the environment, but also our commitment to practical, cost-effective solutions that help businesses reduce handling costs, improve storage efficiency and choose the right products for their operation. Our team also provides expert advice to support industries such as logistics, warehousing, agriculture, food processing, seafood, mining, manufacturing and industrial operations.
Eco Pallets supplies both standard and fully customised plastic pallets, crates, bins, bunded pallets, spill containment and industrial handling products across New Zealand. Unlike suppliers limited to off-the-shelf stock, we tailor products to specific industry requirements — including custom pallet footprints, conveyor-compatible runners, and branded logos, colours and designs. Our team provides expert, application-based advice across logistics, warehousing, agriculture, food processing, seafood, mining, manufacturing and other industrial operations, and backs it with stock held across our distribution network for reliable supply. The result is plastic pallets and material handling equipment that match your operations, equipment and branding — not a one-size-fits-all product.
No. ISPM 15 applies to solid timber packaging, not plastic. Because our export pallets are plastic, they are generally exempt — no heat treatment, fumigation or stamping required — which removes a common source of export delay and cost. Always confirm the current import requirements of your destination country.
Plastic pallets don't splinter, rot, warp or absorb moisture, and they carry no nails or loose boards, so they're cleaner, more hygienic and more consistent than timber. They last longer in reuse, are ISPM 15 exempt for export, and are fully recyclable at end of life. Timber can be cheaper upfront, but plastic usually wins on total cost over its working life.
Yes. Plastic surfaces are non-porous, wash down easily, won't harbour pests or absorb liquids, and are free of nails and splinters, making them well suited to food, beverage, pharmaceutical and other hygiene-sensitive environments. For direct contact with raw or unpackaged product, choose a food-grade model and confirm it suits your process.
Yes. Many of our pallets and bins are made from recycled polypropylene (PP) or HDPE, and all are fully recyclable at end of life. Because a quality plastic product can be reused many times over a long service life, it typically generates far less waste than single-use timber or cardboard, supporting circular-economy and ESG goals.
Static load is the maximum weight when the pallet is stationary and stacked; dynamic load is the maximum while it's being moved by a forklift or jack; and racking load is the maximum when it's supported only at its edges on beams. Racking is always the lowest figure because the pallet is unsupported in the middle, so match the racking rating, not just the static rating, to your storage setup.

Extensive — and a large selection is held in stock at our Auckland warehouse for fast despatch. Our range spans plastic pallets (rackable, nestable, export, hygienic and heavy-duty), crates and bins (produce crates, bulk bins, totes and collapsible crates) and spill containment (IBC bunds, drum bunding and spill kits). If you can't see exactly what you need, ask — we can source or manufacture to suit.
Yes. Beyond our standard range we manufacture to specification — custom pallet footprints and load ratings, conveyor-compatible runners, bespoke colours, and your logo or branding moulded or printed on. Custom and branded runs carry a minimum order quantity; send us your requirement and we'll advise the MOQ, any tooling, and the lead time.
Our pallets and bins are manufactured from durable virgin or recycled polypropylene (PP) and HDPE, with published static, dynamic and racking load ratings so you can match the right product to your handling and storage. They're engineered for long, repeated service life — typically several times that of timber — and many are food-grade and export-suitable. We're happy to provide full specifications and load ratings for any product.
